I have a John Deere AMT 600 with Disc Brakes. John Deere wants $300 a piece to replace these dinosaurs. I managed or jerry-rig a fix to the piston of one that fell apart in my hands when I tried to pull it from the Caliper Housing. When I tried to put the brake pads back on to the Caliper I realized that they were fastened by adhesive! I confirmed this by the manual. I don't need new pads at $80 a pop and the John Deere dealer here in Austin was absolutely no help in identifying what kind of adhesive I should be using. Here are my questions if you please:
1. What kind of adhesive would be appropriate to glue a brake pad to its caliper?
This Caliper has an "HB" logo on it.
2. Do any of you recognize this caliper from any other product that I might be able to source a replacement?
I doubt that this was only used on the AMT 600 and AMT 622. A **** of a lot of screwy engineering went into producing this component for it only to have been used once. I can really use you old timers help on this one.
Thanks,
