Brake Controller - Dodge Dakota

It's a bit late, but you might have looked near the back of the truck under the rear bumper or close to that area. many trucks have a plug-in connector at that location.

The adapter for the Dakota has a make and female ens, so it is designed to install by un-plugging the factory harness at the plug connector and plugging the harness connector in between. The Harness connector has wires and a trailer plug to be mounted to the vehicle.

They do make a 7 pin harness for the Dakota so the BLUE wire may terminate in that connector.

The truck rear end was search from top to bottom, high to low for a harness or terminated wire. None was found. The truck was already wired for an aftermarket hitch and 7 pin plug. I've been towing for years...just no brake controller. I searched all the harnesses in the area, the only thing found was a terminated wire labelled CHMSL. an internet search revealed that is a Centre High Mounted Stop Lamp. For the brake light when you install a truck box topper.

Its all said and done now...so finding something now is a mute point.
