Well...I just finished installing my brake light switch. It works great. I used a piecce of 1" angle iron, drill a 1/2 inch hole for the switch, and two small holes opposite for mounting the brackect to the machine. I used a momentary on normally open bat toggle switch. I drilled a small hole in the end of the switch, mounted the bracket to the tractor, then the sw to the bracket. To actuate the switch I used a spring, put one end through the end of the switch ( hence the small hole I drilled) and put the other end on the brake arm; on the opposite side of the pedal return spring. Kubota nicely made the pin extra long with a hole in allready in place! I put a 1/2" 12v red light in the dash just below the throttle, and picked up the 12V from the ignition (key on-power on,key off power off) side of the headlights...this way the light will NOT stay on when the key is off. I'll try to get some pics to post...dont have a digital cam but my web cam works ok. Total cost...less than $20.00....total savings of not killing my tranny...thousands...Not having to tell my wife I killed my new tractor...priceless!
Ps.....total time ~4hrs start to finish.
