I have a Kubota B7800 and posted a while ago about it losing power at times when under load. I and a couple of other people thought that it may be the brakes because I could not roll the tractor on flat ground when it was in neutral. I finally had a chance to take a look at it and it turns out that the brake pedals aren't returning after they are engaged. I discovered that and then pulled them up manually and the brakes released. I mowed the lawn after that and didn't notice any decreases in power. Can't say for sure that my brakes are what were causing the issues before but it is a step in the right direction.
Anyway, I discovered what is (hopefully) causing the issue but I haven't fixed it yet. What would be the cause of the brake pedals not returning once engaged? I looked and my HST fluid was at the bottom of the acceptable range. Could that be the reason? Do the brakes use hydraulic pressure to return once you release pressure on the pedals? Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Matt
