brand new XR4046 in the yard!

Hey Folks,

I just bought a new tractor! I've operated Kubotas my whole life and I really like this LS so far. It was delivered yesterday and I've put 6 hrs in the saddle so far. Concerns of lift height on the Loader we unjustified it lifts great and is really powerful. We got a cab model with the backhoe attachment. It's great!

Big question- we didn't get the stereo upgrade, but it has an antenna and speakers. Anyone put in thier own stereo after purchase? It must be wired for a head unit if it has speakers and the antenna. Why the heck would the dealer want 500 bucks to slip in the head unit?
Anyone gotten into this project?

Thanks JL. What did you do to mount the stereo? I pulled the faceplate off and found the wires, but there is no box to slide the unit into. I'm very proficient with wiring, but I'm not stereo inclined.

Your new headunit should come with a metal sleeve that you install into the mounting location.

I have same model (no cab) 120hrs. really like everything to this point. Use grapple much of the time and this thing can dig and move brush, trees very well. You will like

Congrats on the new tractor! I've been wanting to check into the stereo also. My dealer offered a head unit that is a direct plug in, but I haven't seen it, not sure who makes it or what features it has. He did say that the speakers and wiring is already there though. Btw I think he offered it for around 300.
