I bought a Branson 2910 last year and so far something has needed repair each time I get on the tractor. The latest is the head gasket.

The tractor had been getting more difficult to start and I noticed the temperature gauge was not always working. Next the coolant started disappearing and I thought that replacing the broken overflow container was going to be part of the solution and planned on testing the glow plugs next for the starting issue. One start after replacing the overflow container I saw that the hose leading to the overflow container had burst. All of a sudden the lightbulb hit me that it was the head gasket. I pulled the head and the cylinders were full of coolant confirming my suspicion. Anyway, now I'm looking for parts and motor diagrams. I have found the branson manual which has everything except information about the motor. I'm at a loss now and even google comes up short. Diesel motors are new for me.

The block has a plate with the following

TF5L00035
A1400N3

And the block casting has
G3017 and 4504

So, can you help me identify this motor and let me know some different places to find parts?

Thanks,
Richard

Branson have a deal with Cummins. I don't remember for sure but I think it's closer than being licensed and approved.
The Branson (Kujke) motors are very similar if not identical to Cummins A series. And Cummins does indeed make an A1400.

I think the N# indicates Kukje's tuning. For example my 3725 uses an A2000N3 while the 4225H uses an A2000N2. (the Cummins A2000 is rated at 45hp. I wonder what the difference is from my 37hp?)

I'd suggest trying Dave's Tractor in Red Bluff. They've been a Branson dealer for a while and are good people. If they can't help then I'd try Cummins.

Cummins is an international corp. They advertise having built over 1 million engines. Some are under license from foreign manufacturer's. I have a B3.3 NA in my 6530 which is built by Komatsu heavy equipment in Japan under license. There is an A1100N in my 2400 built by Kukje in S. Korea under license. I have noticed that the two licensed engines I have are black. The same engines apparently built by Cummins USA, visible on the Cummins site are red. The N or NA in the model number may have significance to North America emission specs. I don't know. I just know they work for me and I have zero problems.

OP. Are you wanting parts or what are you looking for? Seems this posting Has gone off track a bit. If you're wanting parts for your engine I can find them for you. Let me know. Also if you have the vin#of the tractor itself that would help.

I'm looking for a head gasket replacement kit on the immediate side but I also need a repair/service manual of some kind since I need to know torque specs, valve lash, etc.

Lastly I ned some online parts houses. I can find things here and there but it seems like there is not a go to place for everything.

We will check when we open on Wednesday for what you need.

Mr Bitz will take good care of you, he's a good dealer. We also sell parts. Not many Branson dealers have online parts carts, but a lot of us are quick to respond to an email inquiry. Have the head checked at a machine shop to make sure it is not cracked. If it got hot enough, it may have cracked.

The A1400N3 is an engine the Branson (Kukje) makes for Cummins, and they also put it in their own tractors, less the Cummins paint and decals to save us licensing fees. Cummins wants a bit of change every time a Cummins label is officially put on an engine.
