Branson 3015h Engine Rattle

I just bought a brand new 3015h that I absolutely love. I chose the tractor because the specs blow every other brand out of the water and because I don稚 want all of that electronic regen stuff to deal with. I致e put 10 hours on it and have noticed in higher rpms the engine has a rattle to it. It sounds like nuts bouncing around in a coffee can but maybe not as crisp of a sound. Maybe a ping of sorts or sounds like something is loose. Anyway, I didn稚 know if this is normal or if I have a problem. The engine purrs like a kitten at idle and has no loss of power at higher rpms. No knocks or anything else unusual. I was just curious if anyone has noticed the same thing.

It's a known noise. I wouldn't call it necessarily an issue because people just keep running it and have zero problems so far.

Mine does it too. It's mostly noticeable on the A1700 engines and over 2000 RPMs, more or less.

I've tried some things with no improvements, other members have tried to adjust valve lash with, again, no improvements.

More recently, a member posted here about a possible recall on a push rod, which may or may not be related to this sound.

My 2 year old 3515H makes what I am assuming is the same noise right around 2000 RPM. I watched a video that PTSG posted and it is the same rattle that I am hearing. It has been doing it since day one. On the good side, it doesn't seem to affect the performance. I am planning on talking to the dealer this weekend about another matter. I am going to ask about the noise and see if he has heard anything about a recall.

I have a 3015r with 150 hours. I feel like the engine noise became quite a bit less noticeable after my 50 hour service.

OK so i found out some info on this push rod update, from what Branson told me this was not a true recall, what happened is they had about 50-100 of the 15 series model tractor ranging from 30-48hp have some push rods that weren't properly heat treated from a run at the beginning of this year at the factory because of this they issued a part update bulletin for the affected engines, basically if you haven't received a letter from Branson about this your tractor is not affected. as for the noise me and the head mechanic here have given ourselves grey hairs trying to find the source of this rattle, from everything we checked out we can't seem to locate a source of the noise and it has no effect on running performance.

It's indeed very odd but at least doesn't seem to affect the engine whatsoever. Could it be backlash on the timing gears?

I've tried putting the engine at 2500 RPMs, and force the hydraulic system into relief (on both pumps) just to see if was anything related to the pumps gear train but had no effect.
