Anyone ever had one freeze up from lack of use? Bought a 400 hour tractor that seems really nice at an auction. The pto speed selector and mfwa levers are frozen in place. The lever arm at the case for the mfwa will move one direction with the link disconnected. I believe it needs to rotate the other direction for the gears to mesh.

Lift one of the front tires off of the ground and rotate the tire a bit and see if the internal cogs will line up enough for it to mesh.

As far as the levers go spray them with some penetrating oil and start working them back and forth. Most likely they are rusted up from sitting. Some light tapping on the shaft with a small hammer goes a long ways to getting the penetrating oil to move to where it needs to go.

I pulled the driveshaft cover Fwd and spun the shaft with the wheels off the ground while actuating lever at the case, no luck. Feels like the fork inside doesn't want to budge.

Thank you for the reply. I should add that the actual levers move freely whenever disconnected from arms at the case. The MFWA seems that something is seized inside, doesn't feel like the fork wants to move. PTO has some threads on here where the actuating shaft will seize to the case if not used for a long time, hoping that is all with the PTO. Really wondering if anyone has experience with the inside of the FWD on this model.

Mechanical front wheel assist, guess Branson calls it 4wd or 4x4. Also see other manufacturers call it MFWD. I'll see if I can change it to 4wd.

If anyone is interested the shop found a chewed up spacer in gearbox through the 4wd hole in the side of the case. Splitting tractor now.

Oh man, I'm sorry to hear that. I was hoping it would be something easy (cheap). Good luck.
