I have a 3510i that leaks fuel from the fuel cap when on a slope. The cap will not tighten enough to prevent the leak. I have read some older posts that discuss the same problem, but no good solutions. Are there any replacement gaskets/ fuel caps or simple fixes for this proplem?

Look at the filler neck and see if it is cracked or the sealing surface is damaged. Look online on how to repair a plastic fuel tank with a soldering iron, maybe the sealed surface, if not cracked can be smoothed. I repaired a plastic gasoline tank with a soldering iron after I removed the fuel and let it air out. Its been several years and the repair has held. Good luck.

I would check the rubber gasket on gas cap

There are no cracks. The filler neck opening appears flat and the filter is in it's proper position. After looking at the filler cap more closely it looks like there is a spring loaded pressure relief valve built into the center of the cap. I probed the valve and the spring tension seems really weak. The fuel flows from the center valve through a channel and exits through a groove in the cap threads. Does anyone know if there are any other vents on the fuel tanks? I plan on stopping at a Branson dealer and seeing if they have a replacement cap, but if there are any other vents I'd like to make sure they are open.

My 3520 has a tank vent located around the right rear above the rear axle.

Did a replacement cap fix the issue? I have a century 3045 and it has the same issue.

my 2910 does the same thing. i replaced the cap, and the new one leaks as well...that says defective design to me. my low tech solution has been to only fill the tank about half way.

I ended up doing something similar to what I saw in another post on this message board. I used a 2 1/2" 45 degree fuel hose ( Gates 24714), 2 1/2" filler neck ( Jaz Products 350-251-03) , 3 hose clamps and a piece of scrap square tubing to extend the filler. Doesn't leak at all now no matter how full or how steep the slope.

I just did this for my 4020 so Its still relevant, but I found that the 2 1/4 Hose and 2 1/4 Filler Neck were a better fit for my tank.
