After much work I finally got my NOS 8620 hoe on my 4220. Had an issue with a stabilizer with no down pressure that turned out to be an adjustment and some trash in a valve.
Have been using it a bit on and off and it probably has all of 3 hours on it. My only complaint is that the boom will not stay all the way pulled up when I use the FEL. If I don't turn around every few minutes and pull it up it will be on the ground. I just put the pin in it when I know I won't be using it but is this normal for this particular Ameriquip BH?
Remember the BH is brand new so the seals cannot be worn out and I see no leaks anywhere. I'm hoping it's not a spool issue as I have no warranty on the unit. The BH has plenty of power and the relief kicks in with no issue. No complaints what so ever except the creeping.

You said NOS. Was the unit stored outside? If so, there could of been rust on the rod of that cylinder and if not cleaned up before using could eat the seals up.

Yes, it sat outside in TX for a couple of years. I checked the cylinders when it was delivered and they looked great...but yes I do agree that could have been the issue. I may have to remove the entire valve body to pull apart the top and the bottom check valves. May be junk in them from the oil sitting for so long. I've read some of these cheaper BH's do creep and this is to be expected..? I worked with heavy equipment growing up with my grandfather and dad and never saw creep on any of our machines. Even one of my grandfathers original AC HD5 to this day does not creep on inch when the blade is left pulled up.

My Kubota B26 had valve leakage also and everything creeps down slowly even when parked. I think this is normal for the cheap valves that they use.

If you've ever priced one of those valves for either the 8620 or your B26 they're not cheap, just not made to the standards we in the US are use to on our old 70's vintage equipment. The creep is normal over the course of a few hours or overnight. But, in a few minutes there is either junk in the valve or seals ate up in cylinder. On a brand new one if they move less than 2 inches in a hour that is considered normal. No one builds them like that old Allis anymore. I got an old D8 that has sat with the blade up for about 3 years now. The secret, cable lift no fancy hydraulics to cause issues.

My LS P7010 will set with the 3 PH up for months and not leak down a bit. THe FEL leaks slowly but it takes weeks to lower from raised position. When my fuel tank started leaking, I raised the FEL up so I could load it if needed and it stayed up for more than 4 weeks, leaking down about a foot or so per week. No one here to mess with it or get under it other than a chicken so I wasnt worried safety wise leaving them up.
If I dont lock the boom up on the B26, it will be on the ground the next morning.

I think I may switch a couple of lines to see if it is junk in the valve. I hate to pull that valve assembly off again to find out it's in the cylinder. If I let it sit in the up position for 20 min the bucket will be on the ground. I can live with it since I have the pin to put in there but I don't like the idea.

Yes, we had the first d7 produced with the powershift transmission. Back in the 80's I worked on it from time to time(never anything bad) but I could leave the blade up on it with no leakdown for a week at a time. We also had Northwest cable shovels(80d-180d's) that never had issues with leakdown :))
