Branson F3550 Shift Problems

Tractor will shift into range 1,2, or 3. But will not go into gear 1-4, but when you shift to forward or reverse it will move forward or backwards. Gear shifter is in NEUTRAL. Something has to be stuck???

Look for a piece of tree branch jammed in the linkage under there. if not that, sounds like a fork became disconnected inside. LH Range 12&3 is NOT Synchro, but the RH side 1-4 shifter is synchro

It is possible that you have something jammed in the linkage as Linc mentioned, It is also possible that the shifter has gotten the external shifting forks mis-aligned. I did that once on a Century 2535 (Branson 3510),not sure how, but the shifter would not move. It freed up while I was fooling with the lever and every thing went back to working. Take a look at the mechanism at the base of the shifting lever. It probably is something simple. Good Luck. W. Jones
