I went into my closest Branson dealer yesterday to purchase my hydraulic filter ($18.32) and was suprised to find that they are now carrying Branson branded tractor oil, hydraulic fluid, and even tractor wash - both for the body and engine degreaser. I wish I knew this before I went through all the trouble of getting the Chevron hydraulic fluid that the book recommended (same price, $38.95 for 5 gallons)
The oil they recommend (at least in this part of the country) is 15W-40 which again is different than they show in the manual. I also found it interesting that the sign recommended the same fluid for several different brands of tractors.
The hydraulic filter was Branson brand but it was a different number than the one in the book (book = NTB8030000A3, dealer supplied = Hyd102030). It made me feel a little better since all the Bransons/Centurys use the same filter (at least the < 45 hp models). My old one was black and this one is red.
