Hi, I think I've read all the articles thus far on the site about glow plugs. It's very hard to find a replacement glow plug to fit your machine mine is a 2012 4520r Branson. My engine is the A2300n2. This is a Kukji engine but of course it's made based on the Cummins design.

I did some measuring and I found an NGK plug that I think will fit without worries. I tried to find top dead center on the piston this is when I found, that the glow plug goes down into a chamber not directly contact with the piston. Can anybody verify my theory. I stuck the caliper rod all the way down inside hoping to get a measurement crank it over with a wrench and could never get the caliper Rod to move. The a36j glow plug from Branson is 19 mm the 701 RS from NGK is 3 mm longer looks exactly the same and in no way shape or form do I think this would ever come in contact with the top of the piston. I have also found some cross references for both air filters at a cheaper price through Napa Gold.
The Branson dealers in my area, both have closed. And here in Canada the parts for Branson's are ridiculous. Four glow plugs are now over $500 plus tax.

I welcome some good conversation from the folks on the site thank you. I would like to know if anybody has ever had a head apart off of these engines the a2300 N2 Cummins.

Shoot off an email to NGK. They can recommend the correct glow plug. I did that with a Mitsubishi tractor and learned I'd been using the wrong glow plug for fifteen years. The wrong ones were in the tractor when I bought it used.

I will try that. Thank you for your suggestion. I'm really surprised nobody has figured this situation out already. I suppose it's not bad for owners in the United States because the factory is in Georgia. Outside of the US because the company doesn't allow warehouses abroad really puts the price of parts up.

Happy holidays

They are not what I would consider reasonable in the US.

I get mine straight from Cummins. They are not as expensive as going thru Branson. Just get the one for the A2300 engine. Try googling them not mentioning Branson but using Cummins.i

Kukje engines are indirect injection (IDI). The injector and glow plug go into a separate chamber off the main combustion chamber.

Here's a pic of an IDI head off an earlier Branson with a Yanmar-derived engine below. The round thing with the small square port is the plug that forms the bottom of the indirect chamber.

Thank you very much for confirming my suspicions. In your opinion, a glow plug with 4mm longer heater wouldn't affect anything or come into contact with the piston. I don't see myself how it could.

Your engine is what is call an "indirect injection"(IDI) motor. Initial combustion is in this chamber and then "jets out "into the main cylinder. There are several types of pre-chambers. They are often referred to as "Ricardo chambers" though the Ricardo is a specific type. You should be able to find glow plugs independent of a Bransson Dealer and $500 for set is ridiculous! Any good auto parts store should be able to get you a set of the correct NGK plugs as should a Cummins dealer.

Really, the Motorcraft glow plugs (made by Behr) for my 7.3 Powerstroke were less than $10 each a couple of years ago.

Old thread but updating in case anyone else lands here on a search. My local dealer was also $100 per plug so I did some digging. Finally found a set on Amazon for for a Cummins A2300 @ $28 for the set of 4! I have installed and tested for a couple days. They were very nearly identical. In all the ways that mater they were the same as those that came out. I've since ordered another 2 sets in case they magically disappear like some the NKG plugs that look like they should have fit but have been discontinued or OoS.

The stamp on my motor shows A2300N2

Link if it works... www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BLNMQS8W/
If not look for "4PCS A2300 Glow Plugs 4900224 for Cummins"

I think there are several HP rattings that use this same plug. If you happen to get these plugs help the next person out by sharing below :)

EDIT: FYI the plug in the link shows it's tappered, the ones I got were not. Also, I added a bit of Permatex 80078 anti-seize to the metal part just below the threads (not the part that heats) to help it go in better as they are a tight fit depending on how wore the olds ones are and potential soot build up there is.
