TYM574HST now. Previously Kubota M5700, Ford 2000
My TYM owners manual says not to "use excessive speed or load" for the first 50 hours. Currently it has 7 hours of not doing much except lots of laps around the dealership and my yard.
First question is, what is excessive? Second would be, what is realistic break in work other than just driving around not actually working?
50 hours just seems out of line with most motorized vehicles these days, and could take a half a year!

New boat outboards- run 'em like you stole 'em. New gas trucks, only 1000 miles before towing. Dunno on diesel trucks.

So what's up with TYM? It's a 574 with a Kukje A2300T3 fwiw.

Use it without abusing it varying the speed or RPM , then go over the whole machine checking for loose bolts or anything rubbing that can cause grief from unnecessary wear eg. hydraulic hoses and wires.

I would just run it as you need to, and not worry about "break in" time.

Only thing to be sure is to do a full service at the initial 50 hour mark to replace all filters and fluids.

Then, game on.

I say just run it and don’t do anything totally ridiculous. I’ve done this with any engine I’ve got and never had any issues. The motor I built for my 69 charger didn’t get any easy treatment whatsoever and it’s totally fine.

I doubt there is a contractor in the world that has EVER broken in a piece of equipment. Production is the only concern.

Think about a semi truck engine.
All they do is work hard from day one.
Good Luck!

If it was that important the factory would pre run them. My dealer said not to worry about breaking in my skid steer and put it straight to work which is what I did.

They also sell off used equipment every few years around here.

… and diesel backup generators go from 0 to full rpm in seconds, never vary their speed, run at full load and last decades. Some run few hours in their lifetime, but others far exceed normal tractor hours. Hmmm.

Being a licensed General for 40 years my experience is that they sell when it’s useful life is used. Doesn’t make economic sense to the bottom line to sell properly working equipment. With heavy contractor usage, 2 years may be its useful life.
