Minneapolis Moline P3-6 grain drill (10 ft wide, 20 drops, single disc openers)

Drill-2.JPGDrill-6.JPG

I salvaged two of the grass seed boxes and made a 10-ft wide drop seeder

I bought this 13 ft Minneapolis Moline KA1300 tandem wheel disc for $600. Rebuilt several bearings, serviced the hydraulic ram and repainted.

It's too big and heavy for that Mahindra 5525 so it's going to be cut down to about 7 ft starting next week (one of my winter projects).

First is before and after of a John Deere #6 Lister Planter, about a 1950 model.
Then a pair of John Deere 70 Flexi-Planter units from about 1956.
Last is the before, with no after, a John Deere FB Grain Drill. Mid 50s' or so. It's channeled from a 17 x 7. Planted about 5 acres of rye with it this year. Going to try to get it ready to paint by spring. Mark

Is that an old 35 IH wheel disk? I have a ten footer but it doesn't look near as good as what yours does. Were you able to get parts for the disk. I put new blades on mine a couple years back. I should have painted it then. I will be needing to replace the bearings soon. I was told I couldn't get them any where. Nice Job on all of your equipment.

It's an IH, not sure of the model number because I've been told two or three different ones but a 35 is one that I was told. I had to replace two bearings... Not fun! You've basicly got four options: DN Equipment said they could special order me some but it would take about eight weeks and $200 each to get them. Option number two is to convert it to newer style bearings. Option three, go down to a one inch axle because there are plenty of 7" bearings out there for cheap. Or four which is what I ended up doing is buying some 7 1/2" bearings and putting them in a chop saw and cut them down.

I really like that 306:thumbsup: I have one.

Heres some pics of a few I've done. Mostly just cosmetic stuff.

First two are Before and after of a 1980's 306 Bushhog

Next two are Before/After of a 1960's Mott/alamo flail

And the last two are (no befores, sorry) a JD 8' landscape rake and a Mid 90's Landpride BB.

I bought an old JD drag disk for $50, made this 3-pt off-set out of the back half of it. Still need to change some blades around, cut the rounded ends off the unused part to finish the frame of the off-set & maybe some paint. ~~ grnspot
