This is a test fire for the new outdoor fireplace. Just completed today - 300+ bricks. There will be a fire box with built-in adjustable grill to the left - need to get more bricks. The bricks are recycled from a 125-150 year old building. They are hand made and wood fired based on the colour, texture, irregular shape and size. I have access to 4-6000+ bricks. Most are in decent shape. 75% are clean and the ones that are not I clean with an air-chisel. Takes about 20-30 seconds per brick.
The other project, which is almost completed (thanks to czechsonofagun for his support and direction and build) is an outdoor bake oven. I will post pics once completed. The fireplace is a Rumsford design - circa 1750's. Height is around 7' tall with a clay liner.
A deck will be added in front to allow chairs to be placed for relaxing/viewing.
