Unfortunately for all of you, even on the bad days it does not affect my verbosity; it just gives me more time to sit here and crank out drivel. Sorry about that...

Don, all of my posts are drivel, why should you apologize for doing the same?!? Just keep posting.

Don't feel bad. I doubt anybody will notice. I have friends in Florida that tell me this is an everyday occurence in several parts of Florida. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I'd bet 1/4 of the state of Michigan comes there every winter.

They're supposed to be (finally) delivering my tractor this morning.....

It's good to hear it wasn't delivered airmail by hurricane Frances. On the serious side, Our prayers are with the people in the path of hurricane Ivan.

Don, I saw that you mentioned an internal defibrilator. Sounds like you don't need this product, but I'll mention it anyway. It's an automated external defibrilator (AED). It's so simple to use a child could do it. We just got one at our office and received training. Basically, if a person's heart stops beating, you turn the machine on and put two pads on the person's chest. The machine then analyzes the situation and determines if a shock is required. The steps are then repeated after the shock to determine if it was successful. For folks with possible heart problems out in the sticks, it could be a lifesaver. Good ones are around $2k, but I think there are some that are less.

Maybe someone can use this information.

Don,

I'm saddened to hear of your prognosis. Our family is thinking of you. Like many others here, we too are organ donors (seems that the tbn community are "better people" than the "general public")

I hope you are able to get out to your property to supervise your son in law using the TC18.

There are more and more of these showing up. Several of our friends live in gated communities or retirement communities with clubhouses, and the AED's are showing up there. You're correct, I carry my own around with me all the time (and it's jolted me twice, each time keeping me alive for whatever purpose), but having a portable will save lives. Unfortunately, I just read an article in the newspaper where an AED was purchased, the nearby folks received training, but then someone swapped it out for another brand, didn't tell anyone, and the training didn't work for the new one. Patient died while onlookers were looking for the paddles, which were packed differently than the model they had seen. So, if you have one, it pays to get it out and look at it, as well as read the directions /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Hazmat, the tractor was delivered this morning to my commercial property, and my son-in-law is coming tomorrow afternoon to load up a dump trailer full of remodeling debris. We'll see how well the supervision thing works /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Don, I think you might want to see if there is a remote control for that thing in your wife's purse. I know if I had one of those and the lovely Mrs_Bob had the power to control it, she would just jolt me out of spite every time I got comfortable. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

as the receiver of an organ( donor heart valve in 96) after the ole razorback valve wore out, (it lasted 11 years): i wish you all the best. sure bugs me that so few folks will do the donor thing. i have an aunt that we will lose soon, because her "religion" doesn't allow her to get a donor heart, and she has had plenty of time to do it.
good luck...will be thinking about you..
i haven't kept up with it, but what about an artificial heart? i thought they where making some real progress there??

I hardly consider information, entertainment, and friendship as "drivel". Keep it coming! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
