I got my spacers, steering guard and toolbox. Spacers and steering guard are nice products. The toolbox is a piece of PVC with 2 holes drilled in it.

That's a little disappointing for $50.

I am going to buy a piece of black pipe in the same diameter as a replacement.

Sorry to hear. I guess no company is capable of hitting home runs all the time. I just bought a new $30K truck and found out that inner rear fender liners are an option--had to pay $70 and install them myself. Come on, GM!

It is what it is. I do not begrudge anyone a profit. Like I said, the spacers are a beautiful piece of machine work and the brackets are very solid.

When I looked on the site, I ASSUMED that the toolbox was metal. It is not. I then went on the site to see if I missed somethign, and I had not, but my ASSUMPTION was wrong.

NBD, but not worth the effort of returning it to Canada, etc. For $50, I just expected more than 2' of 6" PVC with 2 holes drilled in it.

I was a bit surprised too. The brackets that mount to the frame are very well made and very robust though. If the tube were steel it would make a heck of a bumper with those mounts. I agree the tool box itself should have been more than just a pvc tube...

If you look in the front wheel wells you'll likely also see an extra flap in the back of the wheelwell on the passenger's side that is not on the driver's side (keeps water from spraying up into the engine compartment). The driver's side has holes to mount the flap, but no flap. They think all the mudholes are on the right edge of the road so protection for the left side of the engine bay isn't needed.

I paid $40 for this flap and added to my own truck.

That was one of the (minor) reasons I went with a GMC over Chevy -- for about the same price point / trim package, GMC had the liners and a bunch of other noise/vibration/harshness (NVH) add-ons that weren't on the Chevy unless bumping up to a higher trim level. Not easy to pick out from the spec sheets either -- I just happened to notice it while looking on the lots, and soon realized almost all the Chevys I saw had no liners but almost all of the GMCs did. Brand engineering I guess.....

And the $50 toolbox is now a broken piece of PVC. The nuts from the bracket ripped right through the sidewall of the PVC when I hit a stump. I replaced it with a piece of steel tubing.

That's a surprise. I didn't realize the Bro-tek toolbox was PVC. Steel is the way to go.
