broke grease nipple G1800 4WS

Hi,

I broke a grease nipple this afternoon - it was loose in the fitting and when I went to pull the grease gun off it broke off leaving the threaded end in.

Is there an easy way to remove the broken end? It's at the front PTO drive bearing.

Go to an auto supply store and buy an "easyout" that will fit into the hole in the fitting. If it broke off with a little sticking out you can cut a groove across it so you can use a screwdriver to remove it.

Better yet, at the same parts store in the section they sell grease fitting's get yourself a grease fitting tool. It has a extractor, thread restorer and installer all in one handy little tool.

Got the broken part out with a $7 extraction tool - thanks for all of the help here.

Now what's the standard grease fitting for this G1800 diesel Kubota? This fitting was on the PTO driveshaft at the front bearing area just behind the belt drives.

It will probably be easiest to take out another similar fitting and match it up at the parts house.
