I don't know what it's called, but I managed to bend/snap the shaft. It's from my 2016 2555CL HST

Anyone know the part number or what it's called? I'm striking out trying to find it on Google.

Bingo! I couldn't ask for more.... Well, unless of course, you want to buy it for me :)

Thanks a bunch, that's exactly it.

Glad it is the right part. Unusable 3 point is no fun.

That online parts look up is a nice feature. Wish all tractor companies would have an accessible online look up - it is great to have for those of us who do our own repairs.

You're not woofing. At least it's relatively inexpensive ($85+ shipping from Bill's Tractors). And fortunately the part is isolated from tranny. There was quite a bit of puckering going on when I pulled it off. I could just see dumping 5 gallons of fluid.

One feels tempted to ask, “How exactly did you do that?” And, “Did you get any pics?” :D

It's pretty hard to explain without a ton of self-deprecation. But, after 22 years of marriage, there's not much modesty left so...

I had my 3-point BH (I know, I know, they're the evil spawn of Satan) connected, and somehow when I hooked it up, it was way out of level. The right side was up about 4" higher than the left. I didn't use it that way - I had just attached after finishing work at a neighbors house, and wasn't on level ground.

When I saw it the next day, I thought, "That doesn't look right, I need to level that." So, I proceeded to use the hydraulics on the BH to level it WITHOUT first removing the lower arm swing pins. I got it level, dangit, but the tractor did not like it. Just a little more on the right side... SNAP!

It took a second to realize what made the sound. But as soon as I found the pin bent back, I realized what I'd done. By raising the right side with the BH levelers, it was forcing the locked-in-position left arm down. But with the pin firmly in place, the arm couldn't swing. Instead, it bound up, and the pin at the transmission was the weakest link. Total bonehead move. If I'd removed the swing pin from both sides before trying to adjust the level, this lesson would never have been learned.

Well sir, thank you for your ability to share your story. My hope is that it is instructional to those that have a 3pt BH and that they can avoid the same error. For me, I am betting you have mounted and unmounted the backhoe several times in the past and done so quite successfully. With that said, I am reminded that I need to take moment and review before I do - I have made other seemingly routine operations only to bypass a step with a small disaster resulting. At least your housing, frame, etc. are all okay and it is a replaceable part. Again, thanks for sharing. Hope your repairs go well.

Ha, no problem. I will say, I've really gotten good with (de)attaching the BH. I can get it on/off in less than 5min. I've built a small stand for it and getting everything lined up with the on-BH pump is a breeze. With more practice came confidence, speed, and unfortunately, complacency. It was entirely self-inflicted, and one of those lapse-in-judgement moments. I wasn't rushed or distracted. Just on autopilot and not focused.

Hopefully this is someone's reminder not to daydream around expensive and dangerous equipment.
