Was doing some loader work today, noticed oil spray out from front right, seemed like it was from where the quick connect couplers are for the loader. The curl of the bucket seems to work ok, but the loader doesn't have any power pushing down, and will only go up about a third of the way. I'm assuming that I've broken a hose or seal or similar, but i have no idea how to troubleshoot. Can you guys point me in the right direction? Its a hydrostatic if that helps.
Thanks

First check your hydro fluid level. Top it off if it's low. Then try cycling the loader and look for a leak. You might just find it by looking carefully all over the hoses and fittings for a wet spot.

No clue what kind of oil is in there, will the generic stuff from TS work?

It could be the quick connect coupler has disconnected and allowed some oil to spray out.

But, it's more likely to be a busted hose in that area. You could operate the loader and see where the oil is coming from. Be very careful around the leak if the tractor is running, because there is very high pressure in the hoses.

When you find the leak, it's usually fairly easy to remove the busted hose and bring it to a tractor dealer or an auto supply place and have them make up a new one for you. You just have to find a place that makes hoses.

I was wondering if that could be a possibility, with the kind of work i was doing something could have gotten up there and got a fitting just right. I'll check that in the morning. Any advice on the oil thing? I'm thinking of topping off with premium traveler stuff from TSC.

NO!! IVE been told DO NOT use anything but New Holland hydraulic oil or you will regret it. Something special in that system.

New Holland doesn't even sell the oil that was originally spec'd for this machine anymore. The dealer recommended that anything nh134 rated would work as designed

I have been running Walmart Hydro fluid for 2 years and have NOT had any problems yet.
