The chain in my reduction box assembly broke blowing snow on my brothers 1500 ft driveway. I was lucky to find the chain in the snow. It appears the set screws on the main sprocket are missing causing the upper sprocket to slide on the driving shaft running to the gearbox and misalign with the lower drive shaft sprocket. The drive line guard prevented the sprocket key and sprocket from falling off the shaft, thank goodness. I had this blower 4 years with no problems previously. I checked with my local auto parts Bumper to Bumper but they said the had a run on #40 connecting links and were out of stock. I picked up more 5/16 set screws to replace the ones lost and will check to see if they will have some links by the weekend. How hard is it to replace a broken link ?
