broken front draft arm brakets on a 54 inch deck

hi guys i have a john deer 425 with a 54 inch mower deck the front brakets on the deck broke off and i lost one theas are the brakets that the frount draft arm goes into i have one talked to my jd dealer he said that they dont have replacments and that i woul need a new deck nothing wrong with my deck other than the broken bracets and the missing one any thoughts on how to fix would be great thanks art

Local welder to make and weld them on.
I have the 54" decks and it must have taken a lot to have busted them off.
Maybe have kids using the mower?

The reason those brackets broke of is because the deck has rusted some and the metal is thin. When you have someone make a hook, you also need to weld some 1/8 inch flat steel across the front and in the inside and it will last a long time, the 54 decks are thinner and if they aren't keep fairly clean the hooks break out.

my old JD mower brackets broke a long time ago, when th mower was only a few years old.. I made some new, beefer ones with some 1/4" angle iron. i still have the mower. its ugly but works great.

If you cant weld, a welding shop can fix you right up. i found that the brackets that came with my mower were far too thin to take the abuse a mower takes.
