Broken Glass

I have broken out the lower rear window in my 5525 cab for the second time. My HX15 seems to find stuff to launch at me on a regular occassion. Yes, all the chains, etc are in place. Does anybody make some nice rear cab guards? I have been looking and suspect I will be building my own.

Sorry to hear about that. Any pics of machine with mower? Did piece bounce off of tire and then to window? Maybe some angle iron and expanded metal are in order.

Sorry to hear that, call GR Manufacturing in AL. They make protection for all Deeres and made my FOPS for my 4720. Good luck.

John Deere 5525 with John Deere HX-15. It was not raised up at the time. Last year it was a piece of rebar. This year I think it was some rocks. We have plowed up everything and planted coastal. Hopefully this broken window stuff wlll be coming to an end.

Do you have a different ROPS on your 4720 than the factory one?

Same factory ROPS- GR just made me a FOPS for it. And it works but they had to add the front supports because of the weight. I really need engine screens but hard to do with loader and the belly pan shield the engine somewhat. I had a local repair shop add side and rear screens and a chain saw box. I pull a Brown tree cutter and it can throw chunks of trees back at you.
GR makes some sweet screens/sweeps/ belly pans for the 5x25.

They have some cool stuff. I went to Tractor Supply and bought some expanded metal and fabricated one up. It is not quite what I wanted (they only had 24" wide expanded metal. That pretty much covers the glass. I thikn it will do the trick.
