Thanks Greg. It appears that the power train and the hydraulic system share the same fluid. Per the operators manual the category of oil to use for the gearbox, rear axle, front drive axle and hydraulic system is 'N46' transmission drive & hydraulic duel-purpose oil -- So I guess I'll proceed with that. Thanks again!

Not familiar with "N46", but I've done what you're about to do on my old Yanmar several times. I had no complaints using what oldtimers call 303 fluid. It's basically all purpose 20W equivalent, and the 303 is in reference to an old JohnDeere standard.

Since most John Deere compacts are rebadged Yanmars, 303 fluid worked well for my needs. I think it should for your TM as well. It's marketed under dozens of brand names, most of them identifying the contents as "Universal Tractor Fluid (UTF). In the fine print is where you look for the JD303 reference.
