I'm thinking this is the best idea for me also.....

I'm wondering if maybe our linkage rods are too long or short causing some torsion and the premature breakage. ??

They all break the same place, the weakest spot. They are not strong enough for the application. I meant I need to get 4 made, what was I thinking :confused2:

Just FYI in case someone is wondering, they no longer use this style of linkage. That being said, there is no cheap way to convert to the new style, as it is an entirely new valve bank. So you have to deal with it. I like the idea of aluminum.

What we have found is that most people never break even one of these, but the people that break one, often break several over a period of time. Maybe some of us are more heavy handed, or maybe some of the backhoes get very light use. In any event, I'm not blaming the operator. They should be robust enough to take a little beating now and again, and apparently they aren't.

Well thank goodness for that Dave! Just be sure you keep them in stock....!!!
I am going to see about having a machine shop that a friend owns can make them for cheap for me. I might even try to craft my own.....
I've also noted that when you push one of the levers till it stops, the long metal linkage bends (at least on mine) I'm going to try to shorten up the rods and see if that "flexing" of the metal rods doesn't put torque on these parts at that weak point and cause the failure.

I too like the idea of aluminum. If I could find aluminum rod stock that size, all I would need is someone to tap for rod, I could do the rest. I made and used one I made out of bolt once but diameter wasn't right.

I just had the same piece break on me. I recognize this is an old thread, but does anyone have a part number for this piece?

I do not have the part number handy, but we keep these in stock. Most volume dealers stock these.
