The rear link lift arm K2561-44205 broke. Seems simple enough to either weld or buy new. However, The pin/bolt/arm it slips over is welded & can't get a arm back on over the end (which of course was designed to keep it from slipping off).

Is the only way to do this to grind off the bolt/weld & slip it out & then weld it back into place again? That little arm has a round end on the side for the link arm so it wasn't meant to be unscrewed. Seems like there must be an easier way to do this beside trying to get someone with portable welding equipment to come out & weld that lift arm in place.

If I was to grind that weld off & maybe end up using some other type of bolt to reconnect the lift arm. What combination might you suggest? Also, I know possibly silly question but would quick steel be strong enough to work as a weld?

On the parts diagram it almost looks like the rear link shaft K2561-44250 goes through to where the rear mower lift link attaches but it does not--at least on my BX2230 2005 version. The attachment point is on the same L bracket but not at same spot.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Two dealers around here but no one wants to give a lady some advise on fixing this and would rather charge for hauling it into the shop & repair rates....Grass is growing so need to get back in business quickly. Thanks

That part looks like its for the mower lift. Are you sure it's broken ? Or is the roll pin snapped and needs to be replaced? Or are you having issues with lifting the mower lift all the way to top ? If so then screw in the bolt adjustment in the back of tractor near pto.

Yes, the link arm is broken! The loop broke & I removed the arm after taking off the collar adjustment nuts. So I am trying to figure out how to replace that arm.

loop? I am a little confused now--- sorry.:( DO you happen to have a pic of it ?

The rod that goes across the rail should have roll pins on both sides of rod. take both out and then slide it sideways should get it out.

You would think it would be that easy. That has been the frustrating part of this as it should be easy but it seems someone decided to make things permanent unless I am just missing something.

Both sides of that attachment pin seem to be round. The outside is welded. There is a large washer that would keep the lift link on. However, to get the link on it would seem I would have to have the break welded when on the tractor or to remove the welds & that connecting pin & develop a new attachment.

Currently I'm leaning toward grinding that weld off & then trying to develop a new attachment. No parts are listed for that connection point.

Hopefully, you can see something I can't

After looking at your pictures, and running out to look at mine- I am starting to understand you frustration. Mine looks different, but has same problem as yours. I am wondering if the part is 2 in1 ? the pin, roll bushing, and rod all one part ?

I am afriad you that you may be right, you will need to grind it off and reweld it. Have you gotten the new part yet before doing anything ?

I haven't ordered the part yet. I was trying to decide which route to take-- if I need to get someone out to weld the connector I might just have them do some welding on the link arm at the same time.

If I get a new link arm & grind off that connector do you think quick steel would be strong enough to hold it in place of a regular weld? I wish I had a welder as I like to do things myself. Paying extra just to have someone come out when it should be simple enough to fix this on my own is frustrating!

Hope yours never breaks.
