Broken Transmission Fan on kubota BX 25D

Hello, I baught a new Kubota BX25 D this year and i was just working in the yard when a stick got stuck up into the rear transmition fan thats located underneath the seat. It broke off all the fan blades. I am wondering if anyone knows if this is somthing that i could fix my self or that i would need to have the dealership fix?

Also, how important is this fan to keeping the transmission cool?

I do not own a bx. But my dad did, and he broke the fans twice in the last 5 years. There is a lot of thread on here about this. I think changing the fan for a oem is quite a job, but I tought I read somewhere that here is a jobber fan available that split in two, so pretty easy to change. Lot of guy are putting a skid plate under eath when the mmm is out.

Ouch... I read about this happening to several people here and was talked into getting a skid plate to help protect it. I know this doesn't help you one bit at the moment, but you might want to be in the market for one after you repair it. I bought a BroTek rear and mid plate and there is definitely some piece of mind with them. Good luck. I think it is a cheap part but a pricey repair. I know others will chime in with better info.

Thanks, i will be putting a skid plate on, any idea where i can find that jobber fan?

My Kubota dealer carries the split fan as the only one available now.

Did kubota make a factory split fan? I had no idea.

Last time I heard about a split fan out of the box, it was a member of TBN thinking about starting a business making them.

If you search a bit, there is a great thread on here about replacing the fan on a BX. I used that to replace the transmission fan on my BX2200 and found that it wasn't nearly as bad as everyone made it out to be. Entire job took me around an hour.
