I have a HST3710 Kubota and have a possibility of getting a good paying job of "brooming" my neighborhood road association's roads. The job pays well but I would need a "broom" that would attach to the front loader mounts. Where is a good place to look? Approximately what would be the cost? Any recommendations as far as manufacturer? I want as quality product that would last. I also suspect the broom would be activated by a hydraulic motor. Is this correct?

To mount on your FEL you will need to look in the SkidSteer market, and have the universal SS QA on your loader. That may also mean replacing or modifying your bucket as well. You will also have to limit the lift of the FEL with chains possibly to prevent a very costly and messy mistake from lifting the FEL to high and damaging hoses. And lastly, you will have to find one that is rated for the amount of hydraulic flow you have available as most SS attachments require a very high flow rate that CUT's usually can't match.

How much are you willing to spend to get set up?

One good brand is Sweepster - they make a wide range of sizes and drive types. Too bad you are so far away - I have a 5-foot front mount Sweepster that runs from the rear pto and has electric 12v lift and lower. Since my street was re-paved I don't need it any more for my driveways. Anyway you should be able to find something on eBay or a tractor dealer's trade-in lot. A wild guess is that a 5 or 6 footer with shaft drive and a brush in good shape might be $700 to $1000.

This is broom one we carry.

Options in include electric over hydraulic angling so all function can be run from 1 remote. Or manual angling.
Different bristle packages. Poly, poly/steel, and steel.
It also features a floating pivot point on the front of the QA plate so as the ground rises or falls the operator does not have to adjust the loader height as often.
Flow ranges in the 10 to 20 gpm range for both 68 and 84" model.
It has stands to save the brush when not in use
They only come with the skidsteer QA mount, but could custom fit locally of course.
Prices are in the upper 2k range to to mid 3k depending on options and shipping distance. I would classify it as a upper end product. Erskine has a reputation of making quality equipment.
If I can be of any help, let me know

What is said above is true with one exception. When you run hydraulic hoses to the front of a loader you run them up the loader frame from the rear pivot point of the loader. They can be raised as high as the loader with no issues. Just look at all the guys who run grapples with the same setup.

So am I correct that when a person uses SS attachments that they disconnect the lines to their loader hydraulics located near bucket and then connect them to the SS hydraulics. I have never seen the setup so am curious.

Usually not. You can do that with a diverter setup, but it is more common to run the hydraulics from a rear remote. When you use a SS attachment you usually need the lift and bucket curl of the loader also.
