I had a fab shop that we do business with at work, modify my stock bumper into a brush guard. I think it turn out pretty nice. Finished just in time, getting ready to put on my grapple and move some brush piles for burning.
Nice. My G3038H comes with a brush guard but that name is more than a bit misleading as it really doesn't guard against much of anything. While loading heavy brush and limbs, one came through and broke my plastic grill up pretty badly, pushed in the grill's metal screens, and very nearly damaged my radiator. My solution was similar to yours - weld on a sheet of expanded steel to the existing "guard". I put mine on the outside of the guard and, because the factory guard folds to permit the hood to open, I had to stop the ES at the center line of the pivot point. This should be a really nice and useful addition.
