Brush hog options for Max26?

I have a Mahindra Max26. 26 hp. Looking for a brush hog. Never used one so advice is appreciated. Clutch vs no clutch? 5ft vs 6ft? Six foot looks awefully big to be pulled by my Max26.... Tia

I see the common recommendation of 5hp of PTO per ft of bush hog width, even higher if you plan to mow down heavier stuff. Based on that I would go with a 4ft size. If you are just mowing an open field you could possibly go with a 5ft unit.

I would got with a 5 foot unit on that tractor. Is it 26 at the PTO? Either way go with a 5 footer. In heavier stuff just raise it a bit or take a 4 foot bite. If you've got a loader that is good to bush hog with. Mashes down brush. Protects you tractor. Balances the cutter. Put the bucket near ground level and you can find logs and stumps with it. I use a Land pride 1860 and can give it my full recommendation.

I would suggest going with a 5ft mower, same reasons as bilrus said.

Doing a woods 4ft mower for 600 in real nice shape... Think I might pick that up... Don't see any 5ft mowers for decent prices and 6 foot just looks huge!

This 4' one works, I could use a 5' but this is very HD.
