Brush Mower - Any opinions on Rhino or Swisher?

I recently acquired a hunting lease and am looking at buying a Swisher Rough Cut 42" or Rhino PM42 to pull behind my ATV.

Does anyone out there own one and have any advice which might be better, or another brand?

I picked up a used Brush Hogg model its has a 42 inch cut. took a few bucks to get it up and runing but within a few hours it was busted. Busted the spindle off the hub. Few more bucks it was running and then the engine tossed its rod. Few more bucks and its been running since but I take it easy on it and walk the area to be mowed looking for anything that might catch the blade. This unit is built heavier then the swisher models I have seen so I would only assume the swisher model would not hold up to realy rough stuff. Now that I have the areas cut back it works great for keeping the grass cut and trails clear. I would recomend renting a tractor with a brush hogg to do the 1st cut then use your new cutter to keep it cut. Sure will save a lot on wear and tear. thers another model you might want to look at called Acreaze(SP) they are very heavy and porwerful but expensive. best of luck.

I would think the Rhino would be the better choice. If they build their ATV pull-behind product anything like their large rotary cutters, you would not be disappointed.

I have a 42" swisher I have had for 5 years. I have not had a bit of trouble out of it and mows great. I have been thinking about selling it and buying a RFM for my tractor. Not sure where you are located but if you are close by PM me and you can take it for a test drive.
