Rotary Cutter Brushbull 60 "Warranty"

Anyone had any issues with Woods warranty service? My BB60 just started leaking from under the gearbox, so I need new seal(s) and possibly bearings. It's just under 3 yrs old. Called the dealer today, they said seals are only covered for 2 yrs. The warranty says "Gearbox Components" are covered for 5 yrs. Since when is a seal thats IN the gearbox not a gearbox component?

If they won't replace the seal under the warranty, you could try running John Deere 00 corn head grease.

It's thicker than gear oil but flows around the gears and bearings.

Dealers don't like warranty repair as it only covers explicit costs and they can't rake you over the coals. I would call Woods up and question them directly about it and ask them to help.

That's bull*$&$!! The seal should Definately be covered! 5 year "gearbox" warranty. The seal is part of the gearbox components!! How stupid can they be?? I'd for sure be calling Woods about this and informing them on what's going on. This makes me mad hearing this...

Not a useful comment, but really reminds me of my experience with Landpride when one of their implements bent on me when used for its intended purpose with a tractor below the rated hp. The Landpride rep looked at it at the dealer, said yep it's broken, nope we won't fix it, go away. Lost a customer for life, and as you can see I don't hesitate to mention it.

After similar but less dramatic issues with a Frontier implement and no issues at all with an el cheapo Farm Force (TSC sold) disk, I have become highly skeptical of manufacturer warranties on farm equipment and on the perceived rankings of quality.

Anyway, I know this is a thread veer, I'll leave it there.
