The other day, my wife went to start our Tacoma. The battery wouldn't turn it over because the beast had been sitting in the cold garage for about a month. From prior experience, I know that it takes 12.3 volts to work the starter on the 2.7L engine. The voltage was 12.18. All I had to do was put a trickle charger on it for a little while.

Anyone know how many manufacturers are going with brushless starter motors now? I'm assuming the motor on our 12v gate is brushless, as it operates with battery voltage as low as 11 volts. I'd think brushless starters would be a big plus in cold climates.
