Would a Buck owner please look at their tractor and tell me where the neg. battery terminal is connected to the chassic.
I split my tractor and it is all back together but I'm not sure where the cable was connected.....it's not real long, so there's not too many choices...thanks

I do not own that model but the entire engine and frame are the negative on almost every tractor. I would suggest the engine block because the engine is connected to the rest of the machine.

Thanks.... I fully understand that but the cable isn't long enough, I just want to be sure I put it back in the original location, where it worked for 31 years.

Shucks any frame bolt that is within reach of the ground cable.
Sand the surface clean first to assure a good contact.

Again thanks, but there's NO frame....

Here is a thought, did you by chance install the battery the other way around. The POS being longer would reach but the NEG being shorter might not reach the MYSTERIOUS spot.

At the bottom of the instrument panel just left of the steering column. Put the ground cable on the battery first and point it towards the back of the tractor before you squeeze the battery in.
