Bucket alignment bar -L3400

I bought a FEL bucket alignment bar kit based on comments from TBN members. Got the kit and installed it in about 10 minutes - BUT I'm wondering if I have it installed properly. It is almost impossible to see the bar to tell if the bucket is level or? The bar and the bracket are CAD plated. The bar comes straight back to the driver so it's impossible to tell if the bucket is level or not. Is there a trick to marking it, flagging the level mark, or something that makes it easily visible?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Silly me! I already knew that "No pictures and it doesn't exist" Hopefully the pictures are good enough to see what my problem is. The alignment bar is the diagonal 3/8" bar that runs along next to the hydraulic lines.

I always thought that the way those were supposed to work was that as the bucket was level on on the ground, the flat piece of metal that the bent rod rides in would be positioned at exactly where the bend in the rod was.

I'll give that a try. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll let you know if that does the trick. Being old and getting more blind by the day doesn't help much in seeing a skinny bar that's the same color as the bracket. BUT - if it works it'll be worth much more than the $75 cost.

BTW - the $75 includes the bar, bracket and two replacement pins for the FEL. Considering all the parts, that's not a bad price.

I believe you could loosen your locking bolt/nut and make adjustments there to get the bend in the rod to hit the slot at the same time the bucket is level and down on the ground. Yes I am sure you will enjoy using it.

Thanks James K0ua!!! That did the trick. Perfect alignment and easy to know that the bucket is level when the bend hit the bracket point.

By the way - the alignment bar is also a very big help when using the forks!

You will enjoy the bar. I sure miss mine from my DK35. I noticed it missing after clearing snow a few weeks ago. I walked everywhere I'd cleared but couldn't find it. I suspect it's under the snow along my paths and I'll find it in the spring.
