Bucket Drops

Just bought a Kubota B7200 with a front loader. The bucket won't stay pulled back and slowly goes to the dump position. Does this sound like a problem in the hydraulic control box or the piston ram?? Thanks

It's 99% odds that the cylinders need to be repacked.

Take them apart, measure them up and order the stuff. Probably under $100 for both cylinders. You probably should do the lift cylinders too, but that's optional.

Here is a good place to order the packing. The catalog has pictures of the parts and that helps.

Roll your bucket all the way back. Unplug the couplers from your tractor and see if it still settles down. If it does, one of the cyclinders is leaking oil past the piston. If it stays put it is in your control valve.

The tractor is running and it doesn't matter at what idle speed it slowly rolls forward. It takes about 15-20 seconds to roll out. Thanks to everyone for your help.

I would think there is a possibility that the control valve is not self centering. There are springs in the end of the spool under the cap. one may be broken.

Have you checked to see if the cylinder packing is good? Extend the cylinders all the way. Undo or loosen the hose connections that would retract the cylinders. Then use the control to extend the cylinders. A new cylinder will hold full pressure with no leakage. Older ones will leak more and more. Yours may gush.
