I odered a 40D, dealer said quick attach would fit skid bucket,

Any problem in subbing skid stear bucket for stock bucket,ie extra weight and width.

Jeff, the only 'problem' would be reduced weight of material you can lift due to the increased weight of the bucket.

I have that same setup and like the quicktach bucket because of the versatility to use different front attachments like forks. the extra weight of it is offset by the ease of use.

Skid loader buckets IMHO are built heavier and
stronger.
I have Deere buckets and 1 is a 72" 'foundry' bucket
shorter bottom length higher back for harder
digging and more lift.(load is closer to machine)
The other is a 72" 'slurry' bucket longer bottom and
high sides and back but still digs good higher volume
but less than lite material bucket.
Both hold around 1 ton of limestone and
are drilled for same cutting edge and tooth bar.
SSL buckets have many choices and are sizes.
