Eastwind DFM254
Hi I have an Eastwind DF254 which is very similar to the Dongfeng 254. I am not sure if my bucket is curling back far enough. It hits the limit of the cylinder travel.
I would have thought it should go back further than it does. Can the linkages be assembled incorrectly? Guess I need to take a pic and measure the angle to see what I have. Other pics on the net seem to go back further than mine.

If your cylinders are fully compressed - that's it, as far as the cylinders are concerned. Some good pics would help determine any potential problems with linkages and/or cylinder connection points.

Will take pics and measure tomorrow. I am constantly wishing it went back further. May modify it if that is how is is meant to be.

Is everything on the FEL & bucket, OEM. Could it be that a couple of the hydraulic cylinders have been replaced. This could certainly cause alternate actions.

As an example only - my bucket will roll back until the upper lip is about 6" short of touching the hydraulic cylinders. This is by eyeball not actual tape measure. I would also assume every tractor is a bit different.

I have no idea if the cylinders are the correct length. They may be longer ones from a bigger tractor. Third owner.

Update.

This morning I curled the bucket back as far as I could then disconnected one end of one cylinder and curled back again. There was a difference in length of 3/4''.
I noticed the bucket falling down a bit so thought I should bleed it. Lifted bucket to full height so air can get out and curled back to bleed air.
Result was way better. Remembered I had not yet checked the hydraulic pressure so installed my gauge and pressure was around 1900psi. Spec is 2320psi or 16mpa.
Set pressure and did another air bleed cycle. Now the bucket seems to stay at full curl and is sitting back far enough I am happy. Loader has a noticeable increase in power as well.
Lets call it solved. :)

Never ceases to amaze me how things start to behave when you threaten them with the proper tools and test equipment:)
