What does everyone use for snow removal. Right now I'm using the bucket and the 3 pt rear blade on my JD 4210. I'm thinking of getting the blade setup for the FEL. From the people I've talked to they love theirs and just wonder if its worth the money or should I just keep using the bucket.
Right now I'm plowing two spots one about 60 x 100 and the other about 40 x 40. Next winter I'll be plowing my new driveway that will be about 250 yards long.

I'm using my FEL and a Back Blade. Works out good for me. When the snow is real deep, the wife takes the snowblower and blows the pile(s) as I stack up the snow. I see no need for a front mounted blade. Gerard

And when I do use the FEL, it works just like a blade but is much easier to stack out of the way. Gerard

For your current situation, I think the bucket is best. When the 250 yard driveway makes its appearance, the blade is going to best, in my opinion.

I have a large, commercial parking lot to take care of. It usually takes between 2-1/2 to 4 hours to clear. When it snows, I have a Swiss army knife of equipment options, so to speak. Here's the inventory: a skid steer with an 84" bucket, a tractor with a 66" bucket, a Kawasaki four-wheeler with a blade, and a zero-turn mower with a broom.

The skid steer is the tool of choice for most snows. It is the fastest mover of big snows, manueverable, and has a cab enclosure. Plus, I like the bucket because you can clean out the corners of the parking lot better than the other machines.

The blade on the Kawasaki is the best for moving lighter snows (less than three inches). But, I get frustrated with it in tight quarters because I find it more difficult to move the snow where I want it. Shuttling from forward to reverse is also a pain.

The broom is the best for getting to the bare pavement and sidewalk. Plus, the broom is the easiest on the surface...no marks. But, if the snow is over four inches, it starts to become helpless.

Your 250-yard driveway will be able to utilize the advantage of a blade which is to move snow in a continual motion. I wouldn't be surprised if only two passes of a blade on your driveway gets the job done...OK, maybe four, if you are picky.

I going to stay with the set up I have right now but will start looking into the blade. If I happen to find a good deal now than I won't pass it up but most likely will wait until next year.
How easy is it to take off and put back on if I wanted to switch back and forth with the bucket???

You should be able to find a blade, like a Curtis, that has the Deere QA on it. That would make it as easy to switch as your loader bucket.
