new holland tc40a
Hello everyone

I have a New Holland TC40A. I was pushing up a brush pile with the root rake. The hydraulic hose blew out with a very loud bang. I thought it was a gun going off. The hose that blew out was the hose that tilt the bucket up and down. I had a new hose made up at Napa. I replaced the hose and add more hydraulic fluid. The loader would go up and down just fine, but the bucket wont respond. It tried to move a couple times, barely. What is the problem?

First of all, welcome to TBN.
Sounds like there is still some air in the lines. I had a similar problem a few years ago when I also blew a hose. After having a new hose made (also by NAPA) and refilling the fluid mine did the same thing. It lift arms would go up and down but it wouldn't curl up or down. The curl cylinders had a lot of air in the system. I just had to operate the valve back and forth several times to get the air to push through. It took quite a while of back and forth but then it started working again. Make sure your hose quick connect couplers are fully inserted. Don't try UN-threading or loosening a hose to let the air bleed out as hydraulic fluid is under a lot of pressure and you risk blowing another hose right out stripping the threads.
