Good day all,
First post in a while. Good to be back and take a look around. With deer season approaching, I thought it was time to replace my .270 semi with a 30-06 bolt action. I found a sweet deal on a Browning A-Bolt with the BOSS system and a Leupold VX-3 scope mounted for $750 bucks. Sweet rifle that was hitting 11x16 steel at 400 yds. right out of the box. I couldn't be happier to have the rifle. Here's where the deal gets murky. Upon it's arrival to my FFL dealer, the bolt knob was protruding out of the package, and my dealer wanted me to take a pic of it before she opened it. The knob had some wear on the finish, and whether or not it had been caused by the poor packaging, I guess no one will ever know. In my opinion, the proper packaging would have been to remove the bolt, and wrap it separately from the gun. I accepted the transfer, and sent an email to Bud's explaining what had happened, and several days later, I got a generic 'we'll notify our shipping manager of your concerns,' and nothing further. Today, I had an email asking me to review the purchase, which I did, highlighting both the good and bad aspects of the transaction. A while later, my review had posted. Upon reading it, I noticed that the company had removed all the remarks about poor packaging from the review. This leads me to wonder how many times this has happened, and how many other customers have had issues that Bud's just refuses to allow on their site. I want to be happy with my experience, but I kind of expect better customer service than this. Anyone else have negative experiences with them, or am I in the minority? 1501258240557.jpg1501258313432.jpg

Wow! There have been a lot of lawsuits is recent years about online reviews. I'm not one for suing, but an attorney general would certainly pounce on this if someone complained. That is a very unethical business!

I'd never buy from Buds myself. My local dealer treats me very well and I can always buy face to face when looking for the lowest price out there.

Personally, I'd send the rifle back to them if they're going to edit your review.

Unfortunately, once the transfer is done, they won't accept them back. Shame on me for accepting it to begin with I guess. I should have had it sent back on their dime. Live and learn. It won't happen to me again...

I don't have first hand experience buying from Buds, but I've called them a couple of times trying to determine exactly what they were selling. That experience alone turned me off dealing from them.

I've found as long as my local dealer is within $40-$70 of Buds, it's worth the price difference because I don't have to spend money on frieght or FFL transfer fee, added I can see the gun in person. My local dealer has treated me very well, even after buying numerous guns online, only charging $20 in a transfer fee.

We stopped accepting guns from Bud's for transfer after they sent us a loaded gun...

We've got pretty poor choices for dealers up here behind enemy lines in New Yorkistan. Our dealers are for the most part, outrageously highly priced. I wish I could rely on a local dealer to give me a fair shake.

I once lived outside of Watertown.

Take my advice, move to NC:D

I'll hold my ground. I like my piece of the Adirondacks. I just wish the majority of the voting population would get their head out of their exhaust chute...
