I am one of the one's that are fighting for the freedom. I am stationed at Ft. Lewis, Wa. I am in the army. Everyone has their own option.

I am still up for any and all information. The more the better.

I guess I have to wonder where I can come up with a value to run 4 cylinder's. And get a motor, pump to run it. I also would need a tank to hold the fluid to. Any suggestion from anyone.

Thanks

Two valves should be sufficient. One for left/right manipulation
another for elevation. Extending the tractor hydraulic system
dispenses for the need to create a separate plow hydraulic system
along with it's own pump, tank, etc..

Likely discount sources for the valve would be Surplus Center or
Prince Hydraulic's Outlet.

if it were me, i'd get an old 3/4 ton truck wiht an auto. i would mount the hydraulic pump to run off a fan belt in place of the AC. 2 gallons per minute would be a great plenty for this application.
then, go to town. some trick to it all though. Like getting the trip springs angled right.
i wouldnt' go to the effort of that goofy back drag thing. the traditaionl plows can back drag pretty well, especially if you pay attention to the angles of the edge.

I have front plow on my IH434 tractor I made myself.

I don't use cylinders at all, but everything works off of my rear 3PH, by running a 1/2inch rebar under the tractor and under the engine to a swivel axle at the front and below the engine.

I have 2 uprights 2X4 tube steel, in front of my engine that extend downward just beside the rad on each side. In between these and about 8inches from the ground, I have a horizontal axle 24inches long, 3X3 tubing. It can move in a full arc as there is a 3/4inch rod in the center of it that passes through each vertical support. Welded to the center of the axle I have a 3ft beam of the same 3X3 tubing that extends to about 10 inches in front of my tires. This is welded at the center to my 78inch plow.

On the top of the axle I also have an 8inch long lever arm which my rebar rod can work back and forth to lift the plow.

The other end of the rebar is connected to a 1/4inch cam plate that can be pulled upward by my control arms, thus actuating the rebar rod. I can adjust how far to raise the plow, or how low to lower the plow by simply unscrewing a 1inch nut threaded to a 1in lift rod which has one end slotted to attach to the cam plate. I can even adjust it so the plow leaves a 2inch gap from the ground, handy for gravel driveways like mine.

I use it mainly for snow, but I've done landscaping with it too, and it can move quite a bit if earth.

The plow is made of a 24inch round by 36inch long , by 1/8inch plate compactor drum. I cut 3, 18inch wide strips from it, which welded togeather make up my 78Inches. I made a backup frame on the reverse side where the plow is connected. I could have made it an offset plow by making a quadrant of 1/2inch plate, and by extending the axle arm out a bit more for clearance from the tires.

If you want a pic and how to drawing, let me know.

Done.

I have plan1,2 and 3 for design, and plow1,2,3,4 for pics. See Photos selection.

See my gallery in classification Blades and Scrapers.

I hope the plans render OK on your screen. Choose "full scale" if they don't.

Not mentioned, I can use the plow with other 3PH instruments that don't use a PTO, but that could changed even for those with a bit of planning. I raise the plow to max position and latch on a short chain link with hook to the plow up front. I then lower the 3PH which frees up my adjustment nut, then I raise the nut a few more turns, so the lift arms can go to full up travel.

I usually have a trip bucket in the back not shown here. I can use them both at once if I don't mind the blade lifting/dropping when my bucket lifts/drops, also in this case I can't move the tractor to scoop up dirt with the blade on the ground. But usually I lock up the plow out of the way.

PILOON,
That's right, we sure have it rough down here. Was out walking most of the afternoon around a relatives' place, considering some tractor work. He has a 770 or something, but really needs a little more hp to do the kind of mowing/cutting he is considering. Tweny acres will be fun to bushhog!
We were in short sleeve shirts, enjoying the weather. Hope the rest of the year is like this.
