The half man rocks from this area weigh half a man and one man rock weighs same as a man. Within each category there are biggys and smallys. I like a healthy sized half man rock as any larger and I have a hard time moving it. Go to a real quarry and look around. They will have piles of each size and you can pick one up and see how it feels, be sure to imagine lifting 1000 of them.
I wish I had some pictures for you. I can grab some if you'd like.
I don't trust the real big rock walls. The heavier and taller the wall, the steeper the batter needs to be so that the toe doesn't blow out. This means the wall is more vertical as it gets bigger and seems closer to tipping out.
Rock walls are very rewarding. They look natural and robust and the labor expense is obvious to see.
