John Deere 1025r with 120r front end loader, Hustler zero turn mower
Bob,
I built ROPS for my tractor also. What I did was Build the ROPS so that when sitting in the seat the overhead bar was about one foot above my head. I came up with the one foot mark by sitting on some tractors with factory installed ROPS and measured the distance above my head and made the necessary calculations to reach that height. You may want to look at some factory installs for other ideas.
I don't know what model of Kubota you have, but if it's not grey market, a better alternative to making a ROPS might be to buy one from Kubota. They offer them starting at $148 including hardware and a seatbelt.
See this web page, and click on the link to the ROPS certificate to see if your tractor is included in the offer. I bought one this way for my L345, and it was fairly easy to install. And of course, it's engineered for your tractor. That's not to say that adding a ROPS doesn't create other problems /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif (see attached picture).

Since we are on the subkect of ROPS....What the heck does ROPS,EROPS and the various other ROPS alphabet soup stand for anyway??? I', usually pretty good at these /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Well Roll Over Protection comes to mind or say FOPS, Falling Object Protection. hmm EROPS donno /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Getting back on point here, I have a suggestion as to how to figure the height you need.
Figure how high you sit belted to the seat then figure how much higher (lower) your head might be when you're upside down hanging by your seatbelt. Factor in the angle from your crushed front end (from the rollover) to the top of the ROPS and figure out if your head will be within the safety zone or not. If it's not, raise the ROPS until it is.
ROPS = Roll Over Protection System
FROPS = Folding Roll Over Protection System
EROPS = Enclosed Roll Over Protection System
CROPS = What you plant in the ground /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
By the way, the "SYSTEM" includes the seat belts which must be worn to make the roll bar effective.
