I was noticing on the bobcat web site that they make a snow pusher. It is basically a rectangular attachment with an opening in the front for pushing piles of snow and clearing larger areas. I have a scoria (red dirt and rock) driveway and yard so scraping close to the ground is no in my best interest especially if scraping onto my wife's grass. I was wondering if anyone has built one of these that adapts a regular bucket. While in church this morning I came up with a tentative plan using square tubing and light sheet metal. For a skid plate I can get some off of a used mower conditioner sitting in my dad's junk pile. Pushing snow in my yard works best if there is a good base of ice and compacted snow. Thanks. By the was my new Markham tooth bar is awesome, and just primed Tatro grapple yesterday, just waiting on hydraulic kit!!!

Looks just like a regular snow plow with sides and skis, I am guessing their term of calling it a pusher is only due to the sides providing more collection than just a blade.

As for making one for a front attach, just make sure it's light enough to work with the lift of your boom. I am searching along the same lines, although I might look for something to attach to the 3pt so I can keep the bucket on for moving piles around if needed.

One like of thought I had is to adapt a 3pt hitch to the reverse side of my box blade and bolt on some skis. This would allow the same use as the "snow pusher" with my tractor in reverse. If I have time to get creative, I may even look at some sort of hydro setup if I wanted to angle it.

2 things I need to do when we get a good amount of snow. 1st, push it around to clear areas for use. 2nd is to move piles around, as we can easily get enough snow to run out of places to pile it up.

Good Luck and take pics of what you up with.

I have been thinking of something similar, just welding plates on the sides of an old snowplow, with angle iron on the bottom edge, then curl up the tips of the angle iron for the "ski" effect.

I know that Woods makes a bolt on kit to put sides on their back blade. I have thought about going that route, then I could push with 3ph, and still have the bucket to pile high.

Here is a place that makes snowpushers for SS's and CUT's:

How about taking a box blade, removing any rippers, turning it around and attaching it to the FEL in place of the bucket. You can get bolt on shoes for showblowers, put a couple of those on the bottom of the side plates.

If you could find a used one, it may be easier than building a pusher from scratch.
