Bulk Water Softener Salt in TX

Anyone know how to get bulk water softener salt by the pallet or the ton at a significant discount over per-bag retail? Retail stores like grocery stores, Home Dept, Costco, etc do not offer discounts for large quantities of bag salt, and I'm looking to save some money by buying in bulk.

Anyone in TX (especially central TX) know where I can do this? I've contacted a couple of salt manufacturers but they don't seem to want to sell direct to me and want to point me down the middleman markup chain.

Don't really know. Might try feed stores or TSC and cut a volume deal with them, maybe. Works when purchasing tons of cattle feed.

Our local TSC stores have a cheaper price for salt than the others you listed. But it is not a name brand. It buy it when I happen to be at one of their stores. Seems to work as well as the others.

We only go through about 12-15 bags a year at home in our water softener, so I have no need to buy in bulk. It is generally around $4.50 a bag and I just pick them up at the grocery store when I go with my wife. I don't want a pile of salt bags taking up room in my basement.

For our swimming pool I use solar salt. I get that at the feed store. It, too, is about $4.50 a bag. I only use about 4 bags a year for that, though.

However, at my employer we used to use about a skid every two months, though. Then they converted to bulk salt delivery. They put in a large salt tank and a company comes with a large salt truck and feeds it into the tank with an air delivery system. It only comes 2-3 times a year now and is cheaper than the bagged salt and takes ZERO of our manpower. No salt loading any more. If you use tons of salt, you may want to look into that.
