Loader BullDog 285 FEL on YM1700

It's been awhile since i've been on here, busy with working on 2-other tractors. I've bought 2-Shibauras, 1-88' P21F 4x4 and 1-82' SD1602 2x2. The SD1603 has a
an injector that needs replacing, and has a Bulldog 285 loader that works great. Instead of building a new mounting plt. in order to put the 285 on my ym1700 and taking the loader i have on it now. I was thinkin of trying to find out where to buy the mounting(under belly) bracket. I have no ideal who to contact, who installs them or anything. Tried to go to bulldog loaders.com, but i don't think that was it. My intentions are to swap loaders, and sell the Shibaura on C.L. for around $3k w/o implements. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Last two pics is the 1700, less bh now

I don't know it for a fact but do not believe you will find anyone selling bulldog loaders anymore. Pretty confident all those came through LCI equipment in Wills Point Tx and they bit the dust several years ago. I know at one time Hoye had bought a bunch on the loader cylinders but doubtful they have any of the loader framework other than complete used loaders occasionally.

Thinking a good welder/fabricator may be your best bet if you decide to go with mounting bracket for the 1700. I see you are a retired welder so I imagine you would know.

Yes Sir, i can. But you never know unless you ask. Was hoping maybe i could find just the mounting plt., that someone had set aside. That they took off of one(1700) and, used on another model tractor. I'll go measure and hit my steel supplier and fab. one, will post as i go. TYVM and have a good day. Jim

Thank You, great pix. All metal is 1/4" i see, is the square tube a 2.5" or 3" do you remember off hand? And do you have pics of the side view lookin at it, also the front showing how much it clears the hood? TYVM Jim

Sorry I didn't get back to you, I'm stuck in town for a few more days. I'll look when I get back to the ranch. I think the central crossmember on mine is 2 x 4 just based on the following photos. My loader is from Great Bend, a company in Kansas that was later bought out, and closed, by Bush Hog.

Here are some photos I've posted previously that include the loader and its mounts.

Front view after I installed the ROPS. Some of the front loader chassis is visible. Note the crossmember on the tractor (not the loader's crossmember) is low enough to let the hood tip forward.

When I had the granny cabin rented to a college student, there was always the possibility of some yahoo guest going "I drove a tractor once. Hold my beer and watch this!" so I added this chain to discourage mischief when I wasn't there.

The photo shows the U-shaped loader chassis member that supports those side braces that go forward. That part is also visible in the previous photo.
