BUMBLE BEES!!

Man, I tell ya. I really do like this little GC2300. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif I was doing some blade work (grading and such) and got a little surprise. I backed up to this little stump to pull it out. Well, it pulled it out alright.....along with about 50 pi$$ed off bumble bees!! I punched that hydrostat down as far as she'd go. I got away from'em without getting stung but they weren't happy for sure!! I think I've got em pretty well taken care of now. I first went thru two cans of bee spray. I would dig with the blade and went they would come out I'd spray 'em down. Then, I doused their little holes with gas and burnt 'em out. I havent seem them anymore. Am hopefully okay for now. Wow thats a pretty nice and hilly proprety, no doubt you will enjoy mowing that with the gc2300. Just watch out for'em Beez. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yep, I know Bumble Bees. Ran over a nest several year past with my little riding mower. Got 14 stings on neck & shoulders. Just a suggestion for future use - don't light the gas, it will soak deeper into the ground and if it gets to the bees they are done. Lighting draws it back up like a wick.
Yellow jacket nests are worse than Bumble bees to me. Hope you don't run over one of them. Have a friend that claims he keeps a long pole with white rag attached to the end, if he stirs up yellow jackets he waves the white rag.....and the jackets hit the rag... haven't tried it but I do surrender when I hit a nest.... then counterattack.
