For years I've kept my bungee cords in a cardboard box and it's a disaster. It's like a can of worms. They hook each other and it's impossible to pull just one out of the box.
I counted them today and I've got 32 bungee cords of various lengths.
Does anyone have a solution to keep them so they don't become a tangled mess?
I need to be able to bring the bungees with me in the car or up to the barn from the garage. So the solution needs to be able to fit in a box.

Thanks,
Rich

First thing that came to my mind was some welded wire mesh cut down to one square wide and one square longer than your longest bungee. I have some in mind that's 1/4'' thick and 4'' square holes. I use it for building pens for livestock.

Try a piece of pvc pipe cut to a length just longer than your bungies. Hook over the ends. It's what we do at work. I don't have that many at home so here I have a piece of rope between studs in the garage and hang from there.

Spend the majority of your time separating them and getting ticked off because you can't separate them.

I hang mine just from some hooks along the garage wall. I have 15 of various different sizes that I will never use.

What does one do with 32 bungee cords?

That's a personal question:)

I use them to tie down "stuff" that is being carried on the trailer or car roof rack, temp fix for a broken mailbox, hold the tarp over the baler and hay wagon. The kids use them to tow things behind their tricycles.
99% of them I picked up from the side of the road. So the price was right.
The most I ever used at one time might have been around 20-25.
I do like the pipe idea.
If the kids have not cut up all the PVC pipe I'll give it a try. It's amazing what 4 and 5 year old kids will do.

My active bungees, I hang from the expanded metal rear window grate of my pickup. They're always handy. The reserve ones, I sort by length and tie into bundles with string. They can then e stuffed into a duffle bag without becoming a bag of snakes.
